Saint Paisios – From Farasa to the Heavens – episode 7
Summary:
Arsenios (Saint Paisios) tells his mother that Christ revealed Himself to him. “Mother, I saw Jesus,” he tells her. Evlogia runs to confess to the priest, who assures her that her child is blessed. While the members of the Eznepidis family are happily preparing for Amalia’s wedding, the Greco-Italian War turns everyone’s life upside down. Raphael and Charalambos are in the army, fighting. Arsenios tries to help his family, but also other people who are in a very difficult situation, during this period and later during the German occupation. Liberation comes, but soon after the Civil War begins. Arsenios is called to enlist in the army. He prays, begging Virgin Mary to help him, so he will not kill another person. He serves as a radio operator and with his self-denial and faith sets an example for his fellow soldiers.
